TALE OF HARVEY GIRLS IS A SUCCESS BEFORE IT OPENS FORT SCOTT |
"We sold out all four performances with just one mailing, so we've added a fifth performance -- and it's already half-filled." Kay Kuhlman was smiling as she described the success of her first Fort Scott dinner theater venture -- "How the West Was Fed," which will be performed at the Courtland Hotel on Saturday evenings, March 6 and 13, and Sunday afternoons, March 7 and 14. The fifth performance is scheduled for noon, Saturday, March 13. The participatory play is written, directed, and narrated by Kuhlman, who lives in Nevada. The play tells the story of restauranteur Fred Harvey, his "Harvey House" concept of bringing The first Fort Scott presentations of "How the West Was Fed" are sponsored by the Historic Preservation Association of Fort Scott, which received a grant from the Kansas Arts Commission to put on the performances.
